We have Oppo F1 and F1 Plus, both are focused on selfie camera feature. The Oppo F1 equipped with Snapdragon 616, make this phone in mid-low range.
The new Oppo A59 however, is also in mid-low position. It has mid-low class chipset from MediaTek, it has quite big RAM and battery, and still uses the similar design with F1 series.
The price of this new Oppo A59 is $274. How’s the specs?
The phone uses a 5.5 inches IPS display with HD 720 x 1280 resolution. We have around 267 ppi pixel density for the screen. On the inside, there is a MediaTek MT6750 with 1.5 GHz Octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU, Mali-T860, and 3 GB of RAM. The storage is 32 GB but we still can add the microSD card for expansion.
A59 still uses Android Lollipop which is quite dated now but because of the ColorOS 3.0 UI, the experience is not that kinda old, it’s fresh.
For the camera features, there is a 13 MP camera on the back that able to record 1080p video. There’s also 8 MP for selfie camera (some source said 5 MP though).
The battery is sealed with unibody design and it has 3,075 mAh battery. With that capacity and all the specs, the phone has 7.3 thickness and weight at 160 grams.
For the connectivity features, there are Bluetooth 4.1, Dual-band WiFi a/b/g/n, FM Radio, microUSB with USB OTG support, and 3.5 mm audio jack.
Unfortunate for the dark color lover, currently the Oppo A59 is available in gold and rose gold. Personally I don’t really like those colors. I prefer black or dark grey, but hey…. This phone probably will be suitable for ladies and guys who are a light color lover like my friend.
Oppo A59 is just become official and will be start for sale on June 18 in China. Still not clear about the other markets but it’s still possible will be available in India, Indonesia, and other similar countries.
