Tablet trend is moving very slowly if we compare it with the smartphone. The last flagship Samsung tablet is Galaxy Tab S2 which actually got an update last year even though the design remains the same.

This year, Samsung certainly will launch the successor of the Tab S2. The design, features, and specs are not much different with current tablet trend, no innovation, no whatsoever. At least we have a better option if we looking for a bigger screen than a phablet. The Galaxy Tab S series are always good.

With the leak on TENAA certification, Galaxy Tab S3 definitely will be released soon.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3

Just like the previous gen, Galaxy Tab S3 will have two version based on the screen size, the 8.0 and 9.7-inches. The screen, however, will have 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution and the 8.0-inches one will be equipped with 4000 mAh battery, not sure yet about the other one.

Based on the leak, this is some specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3.

The OS will be Android 6.0 Marshmallow as standard and it will have 3 GB of RAM also with 32 GB internal storage. The main camera will be (just) 8 MP and can record full HD 1080p video. The front camera is (only) 2 MP, also with 1080p recording. If we look to the picture, the main camera will be accompanied by LED flash.

LTE will be on the board certainly. As for the main hardware, it will use mid-class SoC, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652. I personally quite like the chip, it has very good performance and will get about 60-80K score on AnTuTu benchmark. Of course, I like Snapdragon 820 better but it will just make the device will be much more expensive. As we know that Galaxy Tab S3 will be under 500 EUR for 8.0-inches version, at least that what I hope.

What I don’t understand now is that the specs are similar to the latest update of Galaxy Tab S2. It also feels strange that for my taste, the Galaxy Tab S2 design is more beautiful and sharp compared with Tab S3 design based on that leak photos. The main difference between Tab S2 and S3 from the outside is the LED flash on the back side by side with the camera lens, S2 doesn’t have it.

Galaxy Tab S2, look that edge!

I am just afraid that Samsung makes an efficiency on the Tab S3 especially the material and some features. I hope not.
