Just announced on October, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is already on sale this November. It only takes 50 seconds and the first batch of Mi Note 2 units is sold out.
Why this phone is really attract many people? Yeah, the answer is because the specifications and features that are very comparable to the Samsung flagship, The Dead Note7, with cheaper price.
I was really expect that the Mi Note 2 brings new stylus pen built in though. Well perhaps there is no need to be very similar with the Galaxy one I guess.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 comes in a very beautiful design with dual curved edge display, and also dual curved edge on the back cover. The display is big, just like the Note7. The weight is still quite impressive with just 166 grams. Considering that this phone equipped with 4070 mAh battery, that’s actually impressive. There are 3 colors option; black, gold, and silver. With just 7.6 mm thickness, the Mi Note 2 is overall beauty.
Move to the screen, the 5.7-inch display is only has 1080 x 1920 pixels, no QHD yet but it uses AMOLED screen instead regular LCD. The OS is based on Android Marshmallow, skinned by MIUI 8.0 with some additional features.
The hardware is one of the best in class. Start with the chipset, it uses the highest Qualcomm has right now, Snapdragon 821. The CPU is consist of Quad-core processor, 2 x 2.35 GHz Kryo, and 2 x 1.6 GHz Kryo. The GPU is Adreno 530 which already familiar.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 doesn’t have microSD slot, there are two storage option, one with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM, the other is 128GB storage with 6GB of RAM.
What also very interesting from Mi Note 2 is the camera feature. It has 22.5 MP on the back with f/2.0 aperture, also equipped by EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization), phase detection autofocus, and dual-LED flash. It uses 1/2.6″ sensor size and 1 µm pixel size. The other features such as geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, and panorama, sure are available. The primary camera capable to shot video at 2160p@30fps. As for the secondary or front camera, there is 8 MP with f/2.0 aperture, and it already supported by autofocus system. You will be able to take very detail selfie photos, and can be more creative. The video resolution is up to 1080p@30fps.
The connectivity features includes WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Dual-band, WiFi Direct, Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and BDS. There are NFC, Infrared, and the USB Type-C 1.0 connector. Besides that, Mi Note 2 also brings better audio output, 24-bit/192kHz, high-res audio.
Just like Xiaomi Phones, Mi Note 2 has complete sensors including Fingerprint, accelerometer, proximity, gyro, compass, and barometer.
Finally, the battery capacity is 4070 mAh and it surely supports fast battery charging; Quick Charge 3.0, that able to charge this device up to 83% in just 30 minutes.
Overall, what I like about Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is the specs compared with the price. It starts from CNY 2799 ($413) for 4GB + 64GB, and CNY 3299 ($487) for the 6GB + 128GB. Those are Chinese version without Google Play Service. The Global version cost a little more at CNY 3499 ($520). Forget a while about the brother; the Mi MIX because it looks like it will only available in China until a couple period of time, expect of course if you want to import it from China to your country.
